    HERO DOG ACCIDENTALLY EUTHANIZED

    Target, American Hero Dog.

Target, a dog who saved U.S. soldier's lives in Afghanistan - was accidentally euthanized yesterday at an Arizona animal shelter.

The dog had escaped from his backyard over the weekend. Target’s owner, Sgt. Terry Young, found out his dog had been killed when he showed up at the shelter to claim her.

The county is investigating the accidental euthanization at its Casa Grande shelter.

In Afghanistan, Target snapped and barked at a suicide bomber, who was trying to enter a building on a military base. The bomber instead set off his bomb in a doorway. Five soldiers were injured, several of whom credited Target with helping save their lives.

When he returned home, Young brought Target with him to his home in the Phoenix area.

Young said he found the gate to his backyard open on Friday morning, the day after Veterans Day.

Heather Murphy, a spokeswoman for Pinal County, said Target was found by a nearby resident, who put her in his backyard and called the pound.

Later that night Young saw Target’s picture on a website used by Pinal County’s animal control office, and, assuming the shelter was closed for the weekend, figured she would be safe until he could pick her up Monday.

When he arrived, he filled out some forms and a staff member brought him another dog. Young then showed the employee a picture of his dog. Then he waited for an hour.

According to the Republic, the director of the shelter told him there had been a mistake.

Mistake? OH HELL YEAH there's been a mistake! Here's an appropriate punishment: how about CASTRATION.

FUGITIVES APPREHENDED

    By JONATHAN J. COOPER
PHOENIX – An unattended campfire and a suspicious forest ranger led to the arrest of two of the most wanted fugitives in the U.S., ending a three-week nationwide manhunt that drew hundreds of false sightings, authorities said.

End of the road, buddy - you're going back to the Big House . . .

Check out that hero over there on the right . . .

Authorities arrested McCluskey, 45, and his alleged accomplice Casslyn Welch, 44, at a campsite in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest in eastern Arizona.

It was a peaceful close to a manhunt that authorities had said was likely to end in a bloody shootout between officers and desperate outlaws who fancied themselves as a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde.

Pretty rough looking Bonnie and Clyde . . .

Welch, who is McCluskey's fiancee and cousin, reached for a weapon but dropped it when she realized she was outgunned by a swarming SWAT team, said David Gonzales, U.S. marshal for Arizona.

Officers apprehended McCluskey without incident after finding him lying in a sleeping bag outside a tent. He told authorities he had a gun in his tent and would have shot them if he had been able to reach for it.

John McCluskey fled July 30 with two other inmates from a private prison in northwest Arizona and evaded authorities in at least six states before being caught Thursday evening just 300 miles east of the prison.

THEY JUST WALKED OUT OF THERE . . .

Corrections officials said that Welch helped McCluskey and fellow inmates Tracy Province and Daniel Renwick escape from the private prison near Kingman by cutting through a security fence.

The arrests came hours after officials discussed a report that outlined a series of embarrassing security breakdowns that allowed the escape.

The prison has a badly defective alarm system, a perimeter post was unstaffed, an outside dormitory door had been propped open with a rock and the alarms went off so often that prison personnel often just ignored them, the report said. Also, operational practices often led to a gap of 15 minutes or longer during shift changes along the perimeter fence, Ryan said.

Prison staff told a review team that the dormitory door was left open because of the heavy amount of foot traffic. That open door allowed the three inmates to reach a 10-foot chain-linked fence that hadn't been topped with razor wire. They scaled that fence and hid out for a time behind a building in an area that isn't visible to staff from the yard.

Using wire cutters, which Welch tossed into the prison yard shortly before the 9 p.m. shift change, the inmates cut a 30-by-22-inch hole and held the fence back with a dog leash.

CALIFORNIA vs ARIZONA

    CALIFORNIA

The Governor of California is jogging with his dog along a nature trail. A coyote jumps out, bites the Governor and attacks his dog.

    1. The Governor starts to intervene, but reflects upon the movie "Bambi" and then realizes he should stop; the coyote is only doing what is natural.

    2. He calls animal control. Animal Control captures coyote and bills the State $2000 testing it for diseases and $5000 for relocating it.

    3. He calls a veterinarian. The vet collects the dead dog and bills the State $2500 testing it for diseases.

    4. The Governor goes to hospital and spends $35,000 getting checked for diseases from the coyote and on getting his bite wound bandaged.

    5. The running trail gets shut down for 6 months while Fish & Game conducts a $1,000,000 survey to make sure the area is free of dangerous animals.

    6. The Governor spends $500,000 in state funds implementing a "Coyote Awareness" program for residents of the area.

    7. The State Legislature spends $20 million to study how to better treat rabies and how to permanently eradicate the disease throughout the world.

    8. The Governor's security agent is fired for not stopping the attack somehow and for letting the Governor attempt to intervene.

    9. Additional cost to State of California: $125,000 to hire and train a new security agent with additional special training re: the nature of coyotes.

    10. PETA protests the coyote's relocation and files suit against the State.

    ARIZONA

The Governor of Arizona is jogging with her dog along a nature trail. A Coyote jumps out and attacks her dog.

    1. The Governor shoots the coyote with her State-issued pistol and keeps jogging. The Governor has spent $0.35 on a .380 hollow point cartridge.

    2. The Buzzards eat the dead coyote.

And that's why California is broke.

ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION UPDATE

And . . . here we have an industrious Mexican national, just simply on her way to visiting her friends and relatives across the international border in Arizona, all the while passing through the port of entry at Nogales, Arizona probably daily. After all, she's 94 years old, so what harm could this poor aged Mexican woman do?

But wait . . . what's all that padded stuff taped to her body, underneath her dress? Well, after the dress was removed, loooookeeee what we have here. Why it's 10.5 pounds of marijuana! Can we blame her, after all, she's probably just supplementing the U.S. social security check she gets monthly at her P.O. box on the American side. And one can't help but wonder how many of these trips has she already made across the border, into the U.S., toting 10+ pounds of marijuana per crossing.

U.S. BORDER - SOMETHING OLD; SOMETHING NEW

    About the U.S. southern border:

Something new-- See the actual news video HERE

    Something OLD

Proving the more things change, the more they stay the same.
Notice the "shoulder patches" shown in both videos.

While politicians continue to evade demands for the U.S. to enforce its southern border, things are getting worse, not better.

CALIFORNIAN SETS IT STRAIGHT

Last week we were presented with the spectacle of President Calderon of Mexico preaching to the United State Congress about - get this - Human Rights - concerning the tough new laws in Arizona. Anybody with the least amount of knowledge of how Mexico goes about business knows what a sick joke this is; what DIDN'T make a lot of headlines is Congressman Tom McClintock from California, calling out President Calderon and his adoring Democrat fan club in the Congress out on their hypocrisy . . .

What was better still was this incredible interview by Wolf Blitzer - who knows what got into Wolfie - where President Calderon contradicts himself and everything he'd said earlier in the day in front of Congress:

". . . if somebody do that, without permission, we send back, we send back them . . ."

What we are witnessing here, people, is a World Class Idiot. Obviously that State Dinner the previous night came with a price tag, and that price was for Señor Calderon to be a sock puppet for Barry Obama.Source URL: https://brownlowpictures.blogspot.com/search/label/Arizona

THE BONEYARD

I have flown over the 'bone yard' several times . . . very impressive. It's on my 'bucket list' to actually go there . . . there are commercial airline planes parked there too.

The Bone Yard, near Davis_Monthan Air Force Base - Tucson, Arizona. As you inspect these amazing photos, bear in mind that each one of these babies had a multi-million dollar price tag!

For those of you that have never seen this, it is something to see.
The precision in the way they are parked is impressive.

It's difficult to comprehend the size of the 'Bone yard' and the number of aircraft stored there. Of course the important thing to remember is that they are all capable of being returned to service if the need ever arises.

If you are ever in the Tucson area, the weekly tours of the bone yard are still given through the Tucson Air Museum, located just south of Davis-Monthan AFB.

Both the museum and the bone yard are very popular attractions in the Arizona
desert. It is difficult to comprehend the number of military aircraft in dead storage
    until you see these photographs!

Even if you have seen this before, look again. The 3rd largest Air Force in the world is sitting on the ground here.
