Today's historic turnovers will represent the first tiny efforts toward reconstructing what the Democrats have done such an incredible job of destroying in the four years they have controlled Congress.
How can this be? Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid & Co. sailed into power four years ago; Barack Obama took the Whitehouse two years later. There people couldn't have received a clearer mandate to rule - they should be enjoying a wave of popularity, a ten-, twenty-, even thirty-year reign.
A San Francisco radical, straight from the Land of Fruits, Nuts and Flakes . . .
Instead, a mere two years into the Presidency of The-One-We-Have-Been-Waiting-For; Americans have woken up.
A career politician who somehow became a millionaire over in the course of a forty-odd year career in Government.
Elections are not won by the rank-and-file, card-carrying members of the political parties; instead, they are decided by the swing voters in the middle - Joe Six-Pack, the greatest single block of whom are probably best described as "Reagan Democrats"
The worldwide Apology Tours, the bowing & scraping before Oriental satraps and potentates, the handshaking with foreign despots & haters of America - this is not what Americans wanted, this is not what they voted for.
The Government takeover of more than one sixth of the U.S. economy; government ownership and bureaucratic mismanagement of insurance programs; this is not what the American people voted for - proof positive is the fact that A) it had to be rammed through Legislature via political threat and legerdemain, ruse and deception WITHOUT BEING READ OR UNDERSTOOD by the very people who voted on it (never mind the citizenry who voted them in) and B) a mere six months later, the very Senators and Representatives who voted it in, in the first place, are being run out of town on a rail.
The American People were sold a bill of goods by a compliant media that turned a blind eye to the indicators: Barack Obama was raised by Marxists (his mother Stanley Ann Dunham, his mentor Frank Marshall Davis), associated & mentored by radicals and terrorists (Saul Alinskey, Bill Ayers & Bernadine Dorhn), preached to for twenty years by a foaming-at-the-mouth fanatical hater of America (Jeremiah Wright) . . .
A man who hates his own country . . .
. . . and married to a woman whom by her own words is "not proud of her country."
I have only two things to say about Barack Obama:
If Barack Obama is not a Marxist, he most certainly is not a believer in the Capitalist way that made America the richest, most productive nation in the entire history of the world; more powerful than the rest of the world put together,
AND -
Barack Obama might not be a Muslim, but he most certainly is not a Christian.
There is still the lame-duck session; significant damage can still be done by recalcitrant Democrats on their way out. Two significant issues they will still have control over:
Illegal Immigration, and Border Control
AND
The Bush Tax Cuts
