Beans. Shellac. Bunnies in Coffee Cups.

This is how my Shellac is looking 22 days after it was applied. I am impressed.

It is still shiny and has not chipped. Considering I type a bazillion letters every day at cut throat speed, which has been the enemy to polishes in the past. If I could get a week without OPI chipping and cracking, it was a miracle.

This is 2 coats of Romantique. I wanted something soft and subtle for our wedding.
The re-growth of my nails is annoying, but with a colour like this it doesn’t really matter. I am having them re-done on Saturday. Any shellac colour suggestions?

I have my sister Jo’s wedding next week, and my dress is a mint green kind of colour – I am thinking of maybe having a cream polish or a soft lilac? No idea…

Has anyone had a french manicure done with shellac? I would like to have that done, with a soft pink over the top so that the white is not too white, but am concerned with how it would look after 3 weeks once my nails have grown.
Would love to hear any colour suggestions as i've only had Romantique and Gotcha.
I had to have a latte this morning, with 3 sugars, to kick start my heart.  I have been sleeping an insane amount of hours the last few weeks and am still bone tired every day. I think I should maybe go to the doctors to have a check up, just in case.
I’ve been trying to add beans to more things that I eat lately, and yesterday added ¾ of the can to my lentil and veggie salad. I don’t know why I buy the standard sized cans as I never eat the entire can in one sitting.

Would love to hear some 4 bean recipes that you enjoy.

Poking Stick.

My sister, and matron of honour, Cat has been like my personal slave over the last few days. She has been driving me around, putting ribbons on things and trekking all over the city with me.

You see this stick? It is my poking stick.

We had to buy an Australian Flag for the wedding on Saturday, and I was trekking around the city with a pole. I'm not kidding you, I had so many people stare at me, I think they thought I was going to poke their eyes out.

I won't lie to you, after an hour the power went to my head and I started brandishing it around like a mad man. Cat has a funny photo of me when I went all Ray Charles on her ass and started using it like a stick that a blind person would use in Myer. I know, I'm awful.

Here's a funny story for you.

Cat & I are walking down Swanston St. There are people everywhere. The next thing I know, I'm falling. I completely stacked it, majorly.

On the way down I had an image of me in my wedding dress with a broken nose, and thought to myself "Protect the face!!" so landed on my hands instead.

The guy behind me that tried to help me, slipped also. Damn people spilling stuff on the street.

    I was so embarrassed!!!!

My ankle is killing me today, and my wrists really hurt but the face is fine!!

Today I had a fantastic mani/pedi in Shellac Romantique at Miss Fox, and it looks so good!!

This photo makes my nails look white, and my hands yellow. I promise this is not true to life.

I have worked out that 2 coats of Romantique is perfection. Ecspecially for brides. I feel sorry for anyone who has to deal with my toes. They are weird.

I also picked up my wedding dress! What a freaking effort that was. Cat said it was like stuffing an elephant into the back seat of the car, a Toyota Echo. I should have thought ahead and taken my car as it's far wider and the dress would have had more room. Then we took it to Geefas house as didn't want S to see it. Hopefully the kiddies don't discover it and learn to tie dye.

We also went out for brunch, and I discovered that if you don't read menus properly you taste things you would not try any other time.

I thought that I ordered "Tomato & Avocado on Sourdough" so when it arrived with lemon, promite & poached eggs I was surprised.

Turned out to be quite yummy though!!

The round home button on my iPhone has been broken for a while now, but yesterday it completely died and I nearly had a break down. Could not use the phone. Took it to some dude at Happy Mobile and he fixed it for me. Huzzahhh.

    Anyhoo, enough rambling.

I'm getting married on Saturday. No more blogging for the weekend!!

Please cross your fingers for sunshine and no wind on Saturday (yeah right.)

Shellac - Gotcha

Unfortunately my Shellac in Romantique did not last the distance, as previously mentioned, there was bubbles in the polish straight away, but only on my left hand.

The index finger polish chipped off within a week.

The annoying thing about Shellac is that you can’t just take it off your self if need be. I’m not willing to soak my hands in acetone. I’ll probably drink it by mistake.

I emailed the ladies at Miss Fox, asking to have it removed and they graciously had me in the next day, to remove, and re paint at no cost.

    Gotcha

This time, the polish is perfect. Not a bubble or chip to be seen.

I can’t decide if this is a negative or a positive though, my nails grow so quickly that the polish moves from the nail bed so quickly.

I'm quite a fan of this shiny shellac business.

Random Stuff

And so begins the post about random stuff that does not deserve an individual post, mainly because I can't be frigged.

    You can thank me later.

Check out the dress that my Mum is getting for our wedding! Reow. She will have straps and a shawl though. It looks fantastic on her.

Greg tried to capture the sunset behind me, but it really was not working for us.

I am wearing my Nana's red dress, and my Zu boots which are 6 years old and going strong.

    The said sunset.

Does anyone else have bucket full of money sitting on their microwave? I took it upon my self to count it last week and discovered $83!! Bam. Straight to the cas' I go.

My Aspect products arrived, Loving them so far.

Last night I went out to dinner with ze bloggers, Blithely Unaware, Cotton Socks, Holly Pop

A real bunch of mis-fits some might say.

    I kid, I kid.

We went to Carlisle St Wine Bar, and I had no idea where it was. Whilst in the cab on the way there, my cab driver was picking his nose, inspecting it and then wiping it on his shirt. I had to try so hard to swallow the vom that had worked it's way up my throat and into my gob.

He then tried to dump me on Acland St, telling me I was there. I was so confused. His GPS was wrong, so I ended up having to use my iPhone to direct us, and still had to pay for him being lost. Ergh.

I had the spinach and ricotta gnocchi, but I must say, I didn't really like it. It was dull and gluggy.

    Fritelle (Doughnuts)

    Cheese and stuff.

    Holly and I

I'm so glad I met you girls, you are all so sweet and clearly hilarious.

I had my nails Shellac'd at Miss Fox this morning, and used the colour 'Romantique' which I love and is perfect for our wedding.

I think that it is in between OPI Sweetheart & Bubble bath, which are both my faves.

I love the salon, can't wait to have our hair and make up done there for the wedding.

Wedding, Wedding, Wedding. This shizz is taking over my life.

    Romantique

You can't see it, but on my ring finger nail there is some slight bubbling. I didn't notice until I left the salon though.

Shellac polishes are quite glossy I think, but not any more so than my usual OPI with a top coat.

If they really do last 2+ weeks without chipping, I will be a regular.

I also bought this little CND Essentials Solar Oil Nail & Cuticle Conditioner ($8) which feels quite nice on.

I am currently staring at the back of my brother Greg's neck, and all I want to do is pick his black heads. It is an all time fave hobby of mine. There is your interesting (and I use the word loosely) fact of the day.

Have you Shellac'd?

I'm booked in with Miss Fox (See, told you I love them) to have my nails Shellac'd 2 days before the wedding.

I have not done it before, so will do a trial with the below colour, Romantique, to make sure it looks okay.

Have you tried Shellac? How did you find it?
